The Maine Integrated Pest Management Council seeks to fill three vacant seats: one representing Maine citizen interest organizations, one representing Maine forest industry, and one representing Maine right-of-way vegetation management community. Responsibilities include participating in two meetings per year in Augusta, Maine and infrequent additional tasks such as reviewing, editing, or distributing educational materials, policy statements, or other IPM-related outreach and education activities. The term of service is three years.
The Maine Legislature established the Integrated Pest Management Council to promote, expand and enhance integrated pest management adoption in all sectors of pesticide use and pest management within the State. The Council is administered and coordinated jointly by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. The Council is made up of 11 members representing a broad base of IPM stakeholders. Members are appointed to a 3-year term by the Director of Cooperative Extension and the Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and
Forestry.
